I’ve had over 22 years of practicing real estate. I always keep in mind that my goal is to help people get what they want AND do it by the rules and laws real estate agents have in place. In 1999 I began earning my license to practice real estate and at that time Agency Relationship Disclosure was fairly new – for years the only person represented in a real estate transaction in SC was the Seller. Buyers were on their own – caveat emptor is the Latin term you have probably heard. Thankfully in the mid-90s, the Buyer began to be protected in their choice of who would represent them! Entire brokerages were established that only worked with Buyers and documents to explain this concept to the Buyer were put into place. In most selling situations, the home seller is purchasing another home, in effect becoming a home buyer. As my client, I will look out for your best interests in both the buying and selling sides of transactions. I find that taking the first few minutes of a conversation or meeting with potential Clients to explain it is YOUR choice to work with me works very well. Over these 22 + years of offering this explanation in the very beginning, I’ve found about 95% of people with whom I speak choose to work with me!
